The Black Dog welcomes Chef Kate Foerster into our Lowertown kitchen for the June Pop-Up Dinner. Kate has deep roots in the Driftless area of Southeast Minnesota. She spent 5 years as co-owner and operator of Herbal Turtle Farms, a 50 member vegetable SCA and specialty mushroom operation. In 2011 she became certified by the University of Minnesota as an expert in wild mushroom identification. She gained her culinary experience at Meritage in Saint Paul, and is currently focused on creating dishes from locally grown and organic food at Blue heron in Winona.
The Black Dog host a series of Pop-Up dinners on the second Sunday of the month, bringing guest Chefs into our Lowertown kitchen. The Pop-Ups afford the opportunity for creativity and collaboration for the Black Dog Kitchen crew as well as other Twin Cities culinary professionals (and serious hobbyists). Pop-Ups are complete, multi-dish, Prix Fixe meals. A special, curated cocktail (additional charge) is offered as a complement to the meal. Items from the Black Dog menu are also available during Pop-Ups for your less adventurous dining companions.
